Guided City Sightseeing Walk
Join a guided walking tour through Greenland’s capital, Nuuk, and gain an authentic insight into both its history and modern-day life. The tour is led by a local guide who is passionate about sharing stories and knowledge of Nuuk and Greenlandic culture. The tour begins in Kolonihavnen (the Colonial Harbor), the historical heart of Nuuk, where some of the city’s oldest buildings still stand. Guests will hear about key historical events and the interaction between Inuit culture and the Danish colonial presence. During this part of the tour, you will also go inside the National Museum of Greenland, where the guide will walk you through selected exhibitions that bring the country’s history and traditions to life. The area offers a unique atmosphere and a glimpse into the past through well-preserved architecture and storytelling. From Kolonihavnen, the group continues into modern Nuuk, where the guide shares insights into everyday life, youth culture, and the social changes shaping Greenland today. Along the way, guests will pass landmarks such as the Katuaq Cultural Centre, Inatsisartut (the Parliament), public art installations, and examples of Greenlandic architecture and city life. The walk ends at Inuk Hostels, beautifully located by the water with stunning views of the fjord. Here, participants are treated to a traditional Greenlandic fish soup, prepared with local ingredients. It’s a cozy and tasteful way to round off the experience with a touch of authentic Greenlandic hospitality.
